LYX The Coach House - sleeps 10 LYY Torbock House- sleeps 8 LYZ Shorrock House- sleeps 10

Surrounded by ancient woodland amid the glorious rolling countryside of the Eden Valley, Morland Hall offers three beautifully presented holiday cottages which boast ETC `5 Star' rating for their excellent facilities, superb furnishings and comfort.
Built in 1861, the main house fell into decline after the Second World War, but has now happily been restored to its former glory by the present owners, to provide a splendid family home for them, along with two spacious and extremely comfortable holiday properties adjoining the main house, and, further up the drive, the large and elegant detached Coach House.
Close by The Coach House, in an attractive sheltered area, is the
shared outdoor heated swimming-pool and an adjacent gym.
With very good access to both the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales, Morland Hall makes for an excellent holiday destination.
Just 8miles away lies the ancient market town of Appleby, once the county town of Westmorland, and renowned for its famous Horse Fair - held in June of each year since 1750. Protected on three sides by the River Eden, the now privately owned Appleby Castle forms the third side and is open to the public during certain times of year.
Displaying a collection of fine paintings and porcelain, it was restored by the influential Clifford family. Passing through the town, the Settle to Carlisle railway offers visitors the chance to relax and enjoy wonderful scenery as it runs over the famous 24-arched Ribblehead Viaduct before descending two hundred feet in five miles. Slightly further to the north of Appleby, the bustling market town of Penrith can be found, which once served as an important stopping point on the north-south trading route. Close by are Brougham Castle and Dalemain - local attractions of interest, the latter being the location for the TV adaptation of the novel Jane Eyre. Pub ½mile.

"A walk through woodland to Windermere's shores . . . superb cottages and facilities in an unparalleled Lakeland setting . . ."
A detached stone barn conversion stylishly refurbished in 2007. Entrance hall. Large open-plan living/dining-room with wood-burning stove and French doors to patio. Modern fully fitted kitchen area. Double bedroom with en-suite shower room/W.C. First floor: Large galleried landing leading to four bedrooms; one double, three twin-bedded. Bathroom/W.C. with over-bath shower. Shower room/W.C.
In the heart of the beautiful Lake District, just a mile from the western shore of Lake Windermere, Graythwaite Farm offers the opportunity for an exceptional holiday. The original buildings of this unique Victorian `model farmstead' have been thoughtfully refurbished, decorated and furnished to a very high standard. They now offer not only superb holiday accommodation, but also an outstanding range of facilities - including an indoor heated swimming-pool, table tennis and a fitness suite.
The stunning location in 4acres of woodland offers plenty of gloriously natural space to visitors and a one-mile walk (which crosses aroad) leads to private frontage on the softly lapped shores of Windermere itself. A 2½-acre stocked lake provides free trout fishing and, at the hub of the estate, beautiful Graythwaite Hall's lovely surrounding gardens are open to the public in the Spring. The farm forms part of the Graythwaite Estate, which has been in the same family since the reign of Queen Elizabeth I and remained intact as a large working estate throughout four centuries.
The farm stead, from which the cottages have been formed, was built in 1890 and its position was chosen at a time when the popularity of the Lake District was just beginning to rise in wealthy Victorian circles. Thus the tranquillity and beauty which first captivated visitors to this area can still be enjoyed in idyllic surroundings where peace reigns supreme. Visitors are well placed to explore the extraordinary and dramatic scenery for which the Lakes are sofamous.
Hilltop Farm at Near Sawrey, the cottage where Beatrix Potter's imagination was stirred to create Peter Rabbit and Jemima Puddleduck, is just 4 miles away. At Hawkshead (4 miles) there is agallery dedicated to her original drawings and illustrations. Within 10 miles are Rydal Fell, Rydal Water, Grasmere and the cottage of the poet who made them famous and brought the Lake District to the attention of the world, William Wordsworth. The Lakeside and Haverthwaite Steam Railway (4 miles) runs through the valley of the River Leven; its trains connect with a leisurely steamer going to the busy, cosmopolitan town of Bowness-on-Windermere. The steamer also goes further north to Waterhead, the stop for the pretty little town ofAmbleside.
